The company Alessi was founded in Italy in 1921. One of Alessi’s defining features is its use of Italian-produced metals that are worked cold. This technique allows for more artistic liberty and creativity when working with metal. Over time, Alessi diversified and began to work with other materials such as porcelain, glass, wood and plastic.
The Human Collection is the fruit of two years of collaboration between Guy Savoy, Bruno Moretti and Alessi. This collection of refined tableware is delicately crafted from polished steel. Guy Savoy meticulously studied various shapes and forms in search of those that would best showcase his dishes in all of their splendor. He shared his visions with Alessi who then brought them to life. Each piece in this collection is made of stainless steel and includes a wide array of products: small heart-shaped salad bowls whose mirror-like surfaces reflect their contents, sleek salad cutlery, amuse-bouche and dessert skewers...
A sketch of a heart was the seed of inspiration from which the Human collection grew. This heart represented humanity's love and need to eat, amplifying a chef’s primary goal, which is to please their guests.
